About Me

I was born and raised on a coffee farm located on the Kona side of the Big Island of Hawaii. Today I live along the Encinitas coastline of California - a loving environment of friends, music, surfing and sun.

Video production has been my passion for over 10 years (beginning in my junior year of high school) with an emphasis on conscientious documentary story telling.  Today I’m honored to work alongside my friends at Saltwater Collective, a production team that prides itself on projects related to surfing and ocean conservation.  My past work includes:

  • Director of photography, editor and motion graphics artist for Between The Lines, a true story of surfers and the Vietnam War.  Winner of Best Documentary at the 2009 X-Dance Film Festival.
  • Assistant editor, co-cinematographer and animator for Minds In The Water, a documentary about the journey of professional surfer Dave Rastovich from ocean-minded admirer to an ocean activist.
  • Filmmaker for Truthout.org, where I traveled to film and edit short online programs featuring politicians, authors, journalists and activists from across the country.
  • DP and editor of Modern Pharaoh, a documentary film shot in Cairo, Egypt profiling former Secretary of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Dr. Zahi Hawass.
  • Additional cinematography, editing and motion graphics projects include: Keep a Breast Foundation, Quicksilver Foundation, Pro-Choice America, Stax Museum and Surfers for Cetaceans among others.

I began playing and making didgeridoos in 2008.  Before then I had no education or experience with music. The didgeridoo has enriched my life in many ways.  My goal with this blog is to use my video production experience as a tool to help share and promote the didgeridoo as a instrument of education healing and fun.
